try parking 2 of them in a 2-car garage and then tell me again how they are not that big. when i had my 3rd gen sitting in the garage next to my SS it made the 3rd gen look like an MG

hmm I guess its decieving until you do a side by side, but to me 4000 lbs is more SUV weight than sportscar weight for this size of car.

Easy and reversible (but not cheap)

Cut off mufflers
Drain out windshield wiper fluid
Battery
Wheel/tires
Lightweight seats

Just got back for the scales and came in at 3920 (crub Weight), with the following mods:

Sparco Evo Front Seat Driver
Sparco Evo Front Seat Passenger
Rear Seat Delete Kit
Front and Rear Seat Belts Removed
Front Bumper Removed
Rear Bumper Removed
Windshield Washer Removed
Light Weight Battery
Trunk Cover/Carpet/Compressor Removed
Engine Cover Removed

Was trying to reach GT500 weight at 3852. but looks like its not going to happen. Tried my best. Only lost my heated seats and annoying check air bag message everytime I start up.

Does the ZL1 use the same brake rotors as the SS? If it does, then you can save about another 24 lbs by upgrading to 2-piece rotors from Racing Brake. That's 24 lbs of unsprung rotational weight which you'll definitely appreciate being gone.

I dont understand how you couldnt get below 3800 with those, I did a weight reduction for my vette last year and this is the list of weight reducing mods I would suggest:

- Sparco Carbonfiber Seats (-20 - chould be more savings for the Camaro)
- Braille Battery (-20)
- Delete Trunk and Rear Carpeting (-10)
- Delete Winshield Washer Tank (-5)
- Delete Engine Cover (-1)
- Remove Air compressor (roughly -5)
- Ti Lug Nuts and other Ti washers and bolts (-3)
- 19inch CCWs with hoosiers (roughly 30)
- Smaller Diameter Steering Wheel no airbag (depending on size of wheel 5 to 8lbs)
- Long tube headers with no cat xpipe (-20)
- CAI (never measured might be -4)
- Carbon Fiber Trunk (-10)
- Race the car with the least amount of gas the racing club/organization allows: Half tank for me.

Notice I didnt remove the rear seats as I thought that would be removing too much from the rear of the car, thus would upset the balance of the car.

A ZL1 like this will be 3900 lbs with a 100lbs driver I am sure, time to go find that driver

Slightly different front rotor, rears are the same

Just did rotors . . weighed them myself.

Front rotor 27 lbs. RB floating 2 piece 22.5 lbs

Rear rotor 23 lbs. RB floating 2 piece 18 lbs.

Total loss . . 19 lbs.

Great place to lose 19 lbs.

Here's another idea; replacing the windows with racing polycarbonate. If you get the whole kit which replaces all the windows that should save about 100 lbs. Giving this a serious look myself:
