So my neighbor keyed my car...

Well I have a next door neighbor who absolutely hates me and constantly keys my visitor's cars. Sad thing is I have no proof so I dont know what to do. I'm getting a security system installed next week with cameras so I can try to catch him in the act. Well anyways, my car has been sitting in the drive way for a few days since I blew out my clutch. I came home to this... and I know who did it. Sad shit... but what can ya do? What would be the best way of getting this fixed? Sanding it down and having them repaint it and hope it matches?

WHOA!!! Thats messed up! That is gonna call for a respray...Adam's doesn't sell paint. Good news is, a good shop will be able to JUST paint the bumper and match it, so it should be TOO expensive.

If you truly "deep down" feel that someone is out to get you (such as your neighbor), you do have options:

1) If you live in an apartment, just make plans to move.

2) If you live in a house, just let them keep keying your car, but bide your time and hopefully they will get caught.

Question:

Why does your neighbor dislike you? Why do you guys not get along? Are you waking them up with your car?

Did you do something besides just driving your car normally in the area.

Please tell us about this. I Have at least one neighbor who I think hates me but its because when I get home, my car "disturbs" his dogs, but my car is NOT LOUD...its factory stock. He asked me to park inside my garage and I said I couldn't because the garage already has cars in it.

To be quite honest with you, that looks far more like accidental damage that you may have done yourself. If someone was going to "key" your car, they would have done it elsewhere.

Keep a running tab of the damage done to your car and to your friends' cars. If the total is over $500.00, that would be felony vandalism in the state of California, punishable by a fine and jail time.

If your state has a similar law, check the dollar-amount threshold, get some camera footage of it, then put his ass in jail for a year.
