I heard that voicemail.
There starting to be carved into non-circles.... Big brakes are on...and as always, there was a saga to do it. Will have some pictures and stories to share later today. In the meantime, damn they're awesome! |

So here's the story.
(I've finally got some good pictures of the "finished car"...I'll post those later) Pete Basica, and JPSS are AWESOME. He can pretty much do anything, and solve any problem right there in the shop. Anyways, I got a killer deal (right place right time) on a set of CTS-V 6-piston front brake calipers, darn-near new ZL1 front rotors, new rear rotors, new rear calipers, nearly-new front pads, new rear pads, and a set of stainless steel brake lines - all powdercoated red - for $1000. I couldn't say no!! It was convenient since I needed new rotors anyways, and Pete had a spare Z/28 splitter of mine from a previous build, that I needed to swap onto the car because I sorta....busted mine. I drive down to Justice Pete Superior Solutions, and got right to work on the brakes. Go figure that just as we finish the job.....we break a bleeder screw that we suspect might have been seized in place by rogue powder coat...Then another....and another!!!!!! So...We tried to use an EZ out for the rear caliper...and that didn't work. Ended up putting the original caliper back on. The front was a little more tricky...both screws broke off that one...and we didn't have any spare 6-piston Brembo calipers lying around...So we attempted to bleed the caliper by removing it from its mount, flipping it upside down, and bleeding it through the crossover line. It worked!! I will replace the broken caliper eventually...but I don't think you'll find another guy willing to use an out-of-the-box method of thinking to make sure I get home on time. Thank you, Pete! And that's another point about this guy: I drove 550 miles to his shop to have work done on vital systems of the car (TWICE!!), and as impossible as it might be, he's managed to get it done and send me on my way (on schedule) each time. Incredible! Enjoy the shop pictures! Arrival and Preparation We attempted to create dual-caliper, 10-piston brakes...but it didn't work...so instead, notice the difference in size... 6-pistons installed, and DSSV dampers peeking Pete attempted to fix the crappy bleeder situation with fire and a drill |

It's amazing the issues shops and people like can Pete can fix right on the spot...
