Torque app and obd2 scanner

Just a quick question. Just got mine in today and was wondering if I could keep the scanner plugged in or do I have to take it out every time. Thing is awesome btw

I leave mine in the truck all the time with 2 batteries though. I couldn't imagine it being a problem with the small LEDs. Can't draw much power

I've got a handheld plugged into my STi 24/7, it drained my battery once, but it was on for 10 days while I was on vacation. I usually drive it everyday, but it has gone 3 pr 4 days without issue.

If you get the OnStar monthly reports then it will show errors if something is plugged into the port when they try to get the information. It happened to me three months in a row.

Ive had a micro ODB2 plugged in for like 4 months now, never take it out, never had an issue...and I've not driven my car for several days at a time.

I dont think the LED stays on all the time, even if it did its so minor a draw, the one on your dash when you lock it probably pulls more than the ODB2 ever thought to......

I leave mine plugged in when I know I will use the car the next day.

It's not only the LEDs, it's the Bluethoot that uses more power looking for devices nearby.

I'm pretty sure that depends on which scanner you have plugged into the OBDII port.

I had one of these plugged into my car for a LONG time:

(ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII Scanner) - sold it to Doug (TAG UR IT)

And now I have one of these plugged into my car full-time:

(OBDLink MX Bluetooth Scan Tool)

And I have never had my Onstar diagnostic report indicate that something was wrong...

I have one of these great little multi-gauge scanners; it is plugged into the OBDII port all the time.

Why did you upgrade to the MX? Just curious I have the ELM 327 as well
