Front Comparison
Has any tried taking the 6 cylinder and the 8 cylinder pics that are out there and doing a 50/50 split on the front? I was trying to see just how different the fronts are by cutting each in half and then putting the two different sides back together...so the left side of the front pic is the 6 cyl...and right side of the front pic is the 8 cyl...
But I have not had much luck. The two pictures of the front I found of the two cars look like the same perspective...until you try to actually pair them up... then they seem to be completely different ratios...distance of the tires to the bowtie...and bowtie to the mirrors...or roof. But I am sure that is just because they were using different cameras and different lenses..etc. Would be neat to see if anyone could pull it off. |

That's a good idea. I'm not sure that any pictures are at that close an angle though. Even without this, you can tell mild differences.
GM didn't want the V6 to look weaker than the V8 since it is still very competitive. It's abundantly clear that GM put a lot of effort into both cars, so both are getting the best in design components.

Yep one on the left is the v6 but it also has the RS package. I think that makes a big diff in the looks. Slap that RS package on the SS and thats one freckin hot car.

Well, if nothing else it shows the effect that the camera plays in all this.

The Front of SS looks different now, but wait untill you see it in person. Regardless, I like them both.

IMHO The V6 looks better - unfortunately. The lower grille on the V8 looks too busy on the V8. Also, since it is significantly larger than the V6 one, it distracts too much from the upper grille. The upper grille with the 'eyes' (headlights) is what should catch the observer's attention but on the V8 with the large lower grille and the exposed fog lights the lower part of the front is too dominant.
