The Weight is a big issue. Its causing to lag the true performance of this car. 422hp car should not be doing only 13.4 in the 1/4th

^also, with gas it is hurting the fuel economy significantly and that's a double wammy.

Poll option 16:
That this ugly beast is the best they could do for the Firebird version. (that they won't build anyway so it doesn't matter.) |

Those numbers (and the rest of the numbers in the article you found them in) are incorrect.

I'm giving a Corbert BUMP to this....lol
So far, 36% says it all...while realistically, I don't think much can be done from now to production. BUT, since Ford is talking about lowering the weight of the Mustang GM probably should listen.

What concerns me:
1) Weight, weight, weight (should be < 3650lbs) 2) Potentail price of the Camaro (should be < 28.5K for ss) 3) Fuel economy (should be > 26mpg) |

If this is truly the case and the Ford Mustang GT becomes faster than it already is and GM does nothing about the Camaros weight and performance, then I am finished with the Camaro. Maybe I'll get me a used Corvette or GTO. Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard Camaro fan through and through - but there has to be a point where I draw the line.

^as always, let's see what the end results are but like you it's my main sticking point. Heck...might be the only one other than the space inside which is not a huge gripe.

It HAS to be heavy. We've been over this billions of times (regulations, platform, etc). So good luck finding a decent car at this price that tips the scales at significantly lower...
But has it been mentioned yet that this is NOT your average G8 platform? That they changed the front end among other things on Camaro...and that the car does not FEEL like it's heavy? |

I guess it might seem I am unhappy because I was also so head over heals in love with the concept, which makes my dissapointment that much more. I mean I have been to the car shows, talked about it and hoped for it for a long time. |

It's exactly the same shape wise? The lines may not be as protruding as what you might be thinking, but it was a CONCEPT. Minus the minor grill and tail changes that are different, they can be fixed with an RS package.
