Newer Camaro Rear Bowtie: No holes in the trunk?

I just replaced my bowties for some polished aluminum bowties. When I removed the rear one, much to my surprise, there were no holes in the trunk! The car was made 05/10 and its a 2010. Can anyone else confirm?

Might be useful if you are planing on going badgeless or buying a rear light up bowtie (no where to run wires)

How do you tell if you have the holes? Is there a way of telling without removing the bowtie? My car was built on 5/13/10

I took mine off, thats how I found out....there must be somewhere in the trunk where you should be able to see the posts because of the light up bowtie wires get routed through there...

Gotcha, well I guess I'd better not start heating her up at 1AM, lol. I've got a roll of 3M tape and fishing line. I guess tomorrow I'll do some heating up and see what I have underneath . Not having holes underneath would be fantastic as I plan on doing something like this.

Mine was built in late april 10'. I opened up the lid and tore back the carpeting. I looked through the hole next to the truck latch and could not see any holes or bolts passing through. Not sure if that is the same metal or if it's double walled( I doubt it since you can see the spoiler bolts). Late april 10' is confirmed no bolt holes for the bowtie.

I have them, build 5/15/10 :(

Here's how you tell if you have pins

Tools you need

Scraper

Claw Hammer

Trunk Lid

What to do

Note that the cover is angled down for when you go to replace it

Slide scraper behind plastic cover between cover and trunk lid carpeting

Pry towards yourself

Do the same thing on this side (when popping this side make sure to hold the cover so it doesn't fly off)

Pry towards yourself

Plastic tabs on trunk latch cover

Slide scraper behind plastic pin between pin and trunk lid carpeting

Pry towards yourself

Slide claw of hammer between plastic pin and carpeting

Tap hammer end with hand so plastic pin slides between claw

Pry towards yourself and pop the plastic pin out

There are 11 pins in total

Next you need to remove the emergency trunk release handle, pull carpeting out and towards yourself then up

While pushing up on bottom of carpet pull down on emergency trunk release handle

Flip handle over

Tip handle down to remove metal pin from back of handle

Place finger behind metal pin and push towards yourself

Metal pin should pop out

Pull carpeting up and towards yourself letting metal pin slid through the carpeting

Bare trunk lid

Left side

Plastic pin :(

Right side

Plastic pin :(
