1300 Kilometer trip in a 2SS

Went on my first big highway trip with my 2ss this past weekend and it was awesome, the car handled excellent and was VERY good on fuel. I was able to get 600+ to the one tank going around 120k the entire way with the odd 150+ boost Only cost about $110.00 for the trip there and back. Not bad for a v8 After getting back home I topped off the tank and it said I could get over 680k to the tank! Highway driving of course but still, the more I drove it the better it's fuel economy was going up. Just cracked 6000 kilometers on it. Amazing trip with this car ! Was very surprised at how well the car ride went.

Yeah that mumbo jumbo in kilometers means nothing to most of us. Gotta get with the times OP.

most of the rest of the world runs in kilometers. The system is set up much more nicely using the base of 10. to prove:

1 kilometer = 1000 meter, 1 meter = 100 centimeters

in comparison, 1 mile = 5280 ft., 1 foot = 12 inches

American system is based off of weird numbers that make conversions hard to do. America should really join the rest of the world with the metric system, imo of course.

Anyways, back to the thread: 600 km = 372 miles; 6000 km odometer = 3728 miles

$110 canadian = about $107 US dollars

and back to the OP: that's amazing! that's the same gas mileage I get in my v6 LOL

Had to wait 5 months to take a nice week off work so it was all good.

As for the others i'll just put it bluntly, it's much better on fuel then I assumed it was going to be.

I had about 1200 km trip too earlier this summer. I had great experience too. Very comfortable seats, didn't have to stop to get out and stretch at all. I got about 8.7l/100km on the highway, - 27mpg (for those who don't know what a kilometer is). The best part is all the waves and thumbs up from people!

haha funny this metric/imperial business just came up in another thread as well

far as I am aware, the US and Britain are the only two countries officially not using the metric system. And Britain uses sort of a wierd hybrid deal where they talk about distance in miles and speed in mph, but weight and height of a person in kilograms and meters.... and sometimes weight in stones or slugs... yes slugs are a unit of measurement for mass haha..

so perhaps it is YOU! who should get with the times John Shields haha

anyway back on topic. where'd you take the trip to Zerox? I took mine to Edmonon once, and Calgary a few weeks later. Couldn't be happier with how comfortable it was and actually great mileage as well.... although the speeding tickets more than made up for what I saved in gas.... damn alberta haha

technically, the "American" system was brought by the british imperialists. Hence "Imperial" measurement system. So you guys kept a few things from them after you kicked 'em out haha.

Kinda like if Quebec ever separates from Canada... they'll have to keep all the Canadian Tires so they have their own Currency. (only canadians might get that one haha)

You know what as an Engineer I cant agree more :-)
Some time in college I started thinking mostly in Meters and Centimeters. I still use large distances in Miles but 1.3 meter being a 130 centimeters sure beats having to know that 1.3 feet is 1 * 12 + (.3*12) = 12 * 3.6 = 15.6 inches.
