Center Cap info for the 20" SS wheels

Does the center cap on the 20" SS wheel pop in from the inside or the outside of the wheel? I'm going to autoX my car this weekend and they have a rule that you have to remove your centercaps if they can be removed from the outside. I forgot to check this the three times I had my wheels off. I don't want to take a chance of damaging the cap trying to remove them with a screwdriver if they pop out from the inside.

Thanks in advance...

most center caps are removed by popping them out from the inside. Dont use a screw driver you may damage your rim. I would suggest taking each wheel off and popping them out from the inside.....

Thanks for the reply, I'm just wondering if they have a lip or something that will preven them from poping off during hard cornering. I guess I may have to bit the bullet and just remove all four wheels.

AutoX = auto cross

kindof a road course in a large paved lot set out with pylons so you can take your car out and run time trials. Lots of fun, especially if you don't have access to a regular road course.

if the center caps can be removed from the outside there's a chance they could pop out during hard cornering and leave debris on the track.

I don't believe these do. You have to push them out from the inside. I'm not sure if they could really pop out on their own.

Small world, I used to live in Laurel MD. South Laurel Dr. dont know what that area is like now but when I lived there it was pretty rough. Then lived in Glen Burnie, then Crofton til I moved to South Florida (traffic sucks here but roads arent too too bad).

Thans guys, I'm headed to the garage to remove a wheel and see how they pop off. You can serach SCCA for autocross events in your area. The cost to join SCCA is ~$100 a year and the cost for the event is ~$40. In most cases, these events are safe and the worst damage you will do is to the sides of your tires if you do it enough. I will respond back once I have an answer on how the center caps are removed. I remember paying at least ~$25 a center cap for the small ones on my IROC-Z's wheels back in the 90s.

Ok...Thanks to yellowz1, I was able to take a very small flat blade screw driver and slowly lift the edge of the cap enough to grab it with my fingers and pull it out without having to remove the wheels. BTW, the center caps are made in China. I think that the engine might be the only thing made in the United States.
