Is it worth it go get a ported intake? Been looking at some small mods I can do before I step up to a cam, was thinking possibly a ported intake and TB?

So short and simple, Ported intake worth it? hp gain?

Reports are 10-15RWHP and better throttle response too! I was looking to get mine done. A great bang for your buck over the FAST LSXr.

I would suggest the Ported Intake... You will gain power there. The TB will give better throttle response once you have the cam in, but it will not increase HP.

I did a lot of testing on mine and that is what I found.

It might be a good mod after the cam and yes it is worth it after the cam but before it may not give you much. I would have the port work done the same time as the cam install then you will be good.

These guys http://www.fasterproms.net/contact.html just installed Kooks, hi-flo-cats, Fastlane CAI, and their ported intake and tb, with a tune, for me a couple of weeks ago. Totally different car.. friggin beast...

I gained 0 hp with a ported intake on my LS3 with LT's and ADM race intake. Ted @ JRE tried everything in the book to get power out of it, but there was nothing there. This is just my experience. It was a waste of time and money.

Again, this looks like another mod where not many people have done JUST the ported intake and tested the results. If you want to trust the shops numbers, that's up to you. Just remember that they are trying to sell you something. That's not saying that it doesn't gain HP, just that you shouldn't rely on someones word when they are the ones trying to get $$ out of your wallet. I'd wait to see someone post up numbers and personal experience that it makes power. After that it's up to you to see if it's worth it. Personally, I can think of a lot of things i'd rather spend $300+ on.
