Cold Air Intake Messing up mileage on computer - Resolution?

Anybody else see their mileage go out of whack for the worse with an installed Injen unit or other unit?

So, you are getting less mpg? Is that what you are saying?

Maybe keep your foot out of it, lol. I have the Injen, no loss of mpg here.

No they are once you put the intakes alot of my customers where saying the same thing and with are hand held tuner fixed it and made more power. It is letting it shift threw the gears even faster so that the car is bogging out when your light on the gas. We have these tuners in stock and alreay set to go so all you have to do is plug in and download

I'll have to check and see if mine seems like it changed.

Sorry but - huh? If i understand and im not sure I do, maybe its a weired vin specific issue. Nealry all of teh feed back on Injen has said MPG has increased including mine. This post is the first I heard of an "unwarranted" decrease?

I don't believe I am actually getting worse mileage, just the computer is misinterpreting the data it is collecting. I am not sure yet. I installed it saturday, and noticed it this morning after I resent the mpg setting. I drove it the same as I did prior to installation after I reset it this morning. I went out for lunch and on the way back I checked and noticed that it was worse, by about 20%.

it just when your driving normal and not on the gas because the trans use vacumm to help it know how much your on the gas and how hard and when to shift. This is only problems with automatics.

Its not an automatic, its a manual.

When I rehooked up the battery, and started it up. It ran with a CAL error for about 10 minutes. Has anyone else experienced that?

CAL is not an error. That is the compass calibrating itself.

Mine's auto, but I have had no issues after installing my Injen. Better throttle response through all the gears, no bogging on WOT, and most definately better MPG's for both highway and my daily commute. The only time I see a downturn in MPG is when I get heavy on the right foot for consecutive short burst WOTs (red light to red light fun!)

I seem to be getting about 2 mpg less than before I put my CAI on. I used to see 25-26 at 60 mph on cruise, now its around 23. I'm over the hitting-it-a-little-harder phase that comes with the new toy as well.

Its also a manual.
