New Dyno Numbers - 638 RWHP - 624 RWTQ ( what the HP at the block )
2010 camaro LS3 motor-Ran a test on a new mustang DYNO today. car hit 638 rwhp and 624 rwtq. many people have made comments that the mustang numbers are more true but are about 8 to 12 percent below and dynojet, in addition the flywheel horsepower would be even 12 to 15 percent more. At my present numbers at the rear wheel would this mean my motor is pushing 775HP at the flywheel, does this sound right???

Using a 15% loss, it would be closer to 750 ...

Easy way to figure your wheel hp to engine hp is to divide by .85... or .8 for an auto.

ex. 650 / .85 = 764.7 650 * 1.15 = 747.5 I think the / .85 way is correct .. Crowley

Multypling by 1.15 is more reasonable.
If a typical stock ls3 is 370...multiply that by 1.15 and you get 425.5

So the formula would be: x(1-y) = z x = flywheel y = % (15 for manual and 20 for auto) z = rwhp going from rwhp to flywheel would be: z/(1-y) = x |

it depends on how the dyno was set up ... Just say the mustang dyno reads say 3 % lower than a dynojet .. 638 / .82 = 778 On a dynojet it could read 661 rwhp (778 / .85) Again .. all depends on how the dynos are setup etc .. use the dyno as more of a tool for mods and see differences ... Crowley

reason being is that the orignal horsepower rating from chevy was posted on a dynojet, using the same type of gauge would be what i would compare with...
