I decided to bail on the Camaro...

...to buy a Cobalt SS.

With all the recent hype on this car I decided to try one and pretty much just fell in love. It is just an amazing little car. You don't even have to say 'for a 4 cylinder'. Plus I can excuse it to my family as an economy car (30 mpg hwy) so I don't feel even a tinge of guilt.

I still love the Camaro, but between savings on gas/insurance and the great deal I just couldn't resist. (335 every six months for some pretty decent limits- sometimes it pays to be old)

Anyway, I have full faith that GM will pull through this- so much so that I gave them my cash. I know it's a drop in the bucket for GM, but hey- it's better than a kick in the sack, right?

No hard feelings whatsoever. Depending on my financial situation once I am outside college I may be right there with you. I love that car.

The Cobalt SS Turbo is a pretty amazing little FWD car.

Have fun with it, and be sure to join cobaltss.net!

I know personally after driving a Cobalt SS Supercharged after three years, I'd wait to get a Camaro.

But it's a fun, fast, and fuel efficient car.

Well part of the decision is I'm losing my company car. They were going to wait until the end of next year but now that timeline is back on the table (I'm not complaining btw-happy to have a good job) and I decided to be proactive. Still, didn't plan on doing it until I tried it-then once I tried it I had to do it. Does that make sense?

I couldn't figure out how to get photos up here and I'm too lazy to RTFM. However, http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...alt_ss_feature minus the wing and the car and driver window is it. Same color, etc.

Completely! There's actually quite a few people on css.net that have switched from their SS Supercharged balt's and 2.4 SS's to the SS/TC. I just can't see myself driving another balt for another 5 years... And yea from not having one before I can tell you that you're going to have a lot of fun with this car!

That's cool! So you got a victory red Cobalt SS Turbocharged with the standard low profile spoiler....

Did you get the analogue boost gauge or the reprogrammable performance display?

What color interior? red, light gray, or ebony?

I hope you got the limited slip differential?
