GM Performance parts short throw shifter
Im looking for a short throw shifter and I dont know which one to buy. I seen that GM offers a short throw shifter that is made by hurst. Does anybody have one or have any additional info on the shifter? Does it compare to the actual hurst shifter? Any info is appreciated.....Sorry if this thread was previously discussed.

The Hurst that GM offers has approximately half the throw reduction of the Hurst Billet/Plus 2, 44% versus 22% if I remember correctly. The Billet/Plus 2 is a competition piece where the GM version is more what I would call a "sport" shifter.

There are lots of options out there. Are you only considering Hurst?

No im not just considering Hurst I just figured that Hurst has been around for years that its a quality shifter. If I should think outside the box what is recommended?

others to consider
I may be bias but since you asked our LSR shifter
. There are others also. I just see some people spend big money which could have spent less to do and get the same thing or very close to the $$$ shifters. Seriously though do a good search. Either way i know you will end up loving the change in feel that it will give your car.

It is a good shifter and Hurst is O.E. caliber stuff. Hence the reason GM picked to work with them.

Based on what you want Barton is an excellent shifter. Can not say much about hurst have not tried theirs yet. I know for me I am switching to a hurst because I want the pistol Grip shifter, they just released. Having 2 4SP cuda's Bartons pistol grip just does not get there but if you just want a ball or like their handle barton does a great job and can save you some money over Hurst. I plan on saving my barton since I have heard both good and bad on Hurst and I can always go back.
