First time at the track..
Hey, just thought id share my experience, actually i have been to the track once before with an 98 z28 auto. But this is the first time with my 2010 SS(stock except CAI) and first time launching a stick. Was a really busy night and only got 2 runs. Wish i got more, launching on the street and track are much different. Bogged really really bad, almost stalled the first run launching at 2200 rpm. Ran 13.44 at 111mph (2.42 60 ft). Second run launched at 3000rpm and just roasted the tires, tried to get off the gas then back in but it just kept breaking loose and wheel hoped the whole way through 1st. 13.8 @ 110 (2.6 60 ft). After launch I powershifted and seamed to run great the rest of the run...any tips on launching?

WOW!! 13.4 with a 2.42 60 ft? Get that 60 ft down to 2.1 or less and you are in the 12's. Nice mph trap numbers. I know you may not be happy, but those numbers indicate your car is a beast. Try rolling out of the clutch and into the gas to keep wheel spin down and wheel hop down. Your next mod might be some trailing arms. That will help with any wheel hop you may be having. Very nice job!!!

That's a good run, my best run out of two times out is 13.57 on a stock engine 2SS. I do have the trailing arms for the wheel hop, still can't get the traction of the line. Looking for some racing slicks to get me into the 12s.

Did your 60ft times go down with the trailing arms?

A 111mph trap is pretty decent. Your car is screaming its capable of 12s easy. The general rule of thumb is for every tenth you knock of from your 60'ft you will knock off 2 tenths from your 1/4 mile time. More practice on that launch and you will be good.

I need to find my time slips and check. I did improve from a 13.7 to a 13.57. I put down some good rubber this afternoon, I will go back on Monday after the coast is clear to see if the wheel hop is really gone. I would always see signs of wheel hop in my burnout marks before the arms were changed.
