Hampton Roads body shop

I am new to the area and just bought a new Camaro. I was unable to wait to have one built due to my lack of a car and the Camaro closest to what I wanted was in Maryland. I requested no front license plate but the only one that was found that I would take had a front license plate. I thought I would be able to live with it. After having the car for a week looking at the hideousness of the bracket and plate, I am disgusted and need to get rid of this. The dealer is refusing to take the plate off and fill the holes because its against the state law. Does anyone know of a reputable body shop on the peninsula side that will do this for me?

where did you buy your car from? I am a member of the HRCC ( Hampton Roads Camaro Club) and our sponsoring dealer is Hampton Chevrolet. Try them, they might help you out if they arent your dealer already. If not, I cant help you with Pennisula shops.. sorry. I live on the southside. But someone in the club that lives up there might.

Thanks for the info. I will give them a call. I got my car up in Williamsburg at Holiday Chevrolet. Really wasn't a great experience but I was able to make it through and come out with the Camaro. If i use them should I put my stock intake back in?

I have headers, divertors, and an aftermarket intake.....they worked all my warranty claims.

Also, just because you don't want to use the factory plate holder and filling in the holes does not mean you won't be complying with a front plate requirement. Plenty of aftermarket hide-a-plate things around....catch what I'm saying.

And I feel for you my friend. I'm in Williamsburg and had major issues with the local dealer....sales time and warranty work. Never will return. PM me if ya want the horror story or discuss more Camaro things....had mine since June 09.

Sweet thanks for the info. As said by Grinder the dealer up here is pretty bad. I have had plenty of problems with them already. I sadly made the mistake of getting the car there after having early troubles with them.

I got mine down in NC, after the local dealers around here refused to give me the military discount ( I am active Navy) and the price was still being jacked up over MSRP. I went through Jeff Gordon Chevrolet in Willmington, got my car at MSRP, got the rebate for not taking her back within that what? 30 day time frame? and also got the military discount! I ordered her in October, she arrived at the dealer the day before Thanksgiving, and she was mine the day after thanksgiving!

Grinder is right about the front plate aftermarkets, I have one myself. It attaches to the two bolts on the bottom of the bumper and comes out and up. I also have a Airraid CAI, magnaflow exhaust, and am looking at new headers!

If Hampton Chevrolet won't do it, try One Stop Auto on RT 17 in york county.
Ask for Steve Neff, They do good work there.
