Onstar Only Offering 6 mos.

When I bought my Camaro 2 weeks ago I was expecting the 1year free Onstar like my hubby go with his Avalanche but it's 6 months now. Anybody else get 6 months from a purchase this year?

Yep my 2011 also came with 6 months as that was one of those changes from 2010.

Dag. Now Onstar and Verizon don't have the shared minutes deal anymore. We were able to add an additional line to the truck for like $5 -10 through Verizon using the Onstar system but now that merge has ended. Onstar is charging a wopping $114 for 300 minutes. That's crazy.

Makes me glad I opted for the bluetooth connectivity package for pairing my cell phone with the car instead of paying the insane markup to OnStar for their minutes.

Ditto on the 14 dollars for 330 minutes or maybe it was even ten.. I hope that was a misprint.

Yeah, all these extra services having really decline in the length of service. My XM radio only last for like 3 months. When I bought my Charger SRT-8 I got a whole year (granted that was in the spring of 2009). Bogus!

The 300 minutes for $114 is correct. (Unfortunately).

From my OnStar.com account...

I think they were talking about the special deal they offer when you set up your OnStar account.

My customers have been offered 300 minutes for $9.99 and it extends the 30 trial minutes too.

What a deal!

And yes, it is six months now for OnStar.

From my OnStar.com account...
Oh that's odd. When Onstar called me to set up everything they offered 300 minutes for 14 dollars. Maybe it was a promotion with the means of getting my CC number....

Yep, once OnStar has your CC they will set up your account to auto renew so be warned. I have to watch mine as I only want the Safety package after the 6 months trial.

I like Onstar..I just think it's too expensive. I've used the Turn-by-Turn everytime I go somewhere that I've never been or have no clue how to get to. I must admit Onstar once did take me on a 2 miles loop-around that was completely unneccessary, but other than that Turn-by-Turn keeps me safe while driving a manual transmission. Especially now you can beam infallible directions from google map to your Onstar, it'll avoid directions that take me in circles. Plus the iPhone Onstar looks real cool. If I can get a good price for the Turn-by-Turn with Onstar, I'll sign for 2 years.

When I setup OnStar in this it was 300 minutes for $9.99 - No brainer. I also have HF bluetooth. One year Onstar included with directions.
