2011 "SS" Oil Fill Cap

Did your 2011 "SS" come with a Mobil 1 5w/30 Oil Fill Cap or do it come with the New Design Oil Filler Cap 5w/30

I did a "GOOGLE" search for some information about "dexos" and come up with this :

http://www.fullsizechevy.com/showthr...e-factory-fill

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...dexos-oil.html

GM has issued a statement that factory fill will now be dexos; not Mobil 1. There was a certain engine that was the exception...I can't remember which one. The press release is posted over at bobistheoilguy.

As I said, GM has already issued a statement saying that Mobil 1 will not be the factory fill and the cap will no longer say Mobil 1, but dexos. There will still be production models that say Mobil 1 until November.

Jehartly, you are aware that Dexos 1 is not a brand right? Dexos 1 is a specification that is more strict then GM6094M which is what they currently use.

I read that in the links the OP provided. It took me a a few seconds to snap the picture so I provided an answer to the Mr Draco's question. It wasn't intended to diminish your post.

From what I understood (not an expert) GM is changing to an oil "standard" rather than a specific brand.

I assume they have enough oil caps or have enough orders for oil caps with the Mobil 1 logo to last through November. Then I would suspect the caps would not be branded.

In case no one heard, Mobil 1 has finally come out and admitted that Mobil 1 is a group III oil. Not that this is a bad thing at all, just that for years people swore it was still majority PAO.

Yep, and so is Quaker State Ultimate Durability. Castrol and Valvoline have so no to GM about cert so far. I am curious if Mobil 1 will.
