V6 Oil

i Just bought my first round of oil for the 1LT V6 i book said 6 qt of oil i bought mobil 1 full syn 5w-30 a 5 qt pulse a 1 qt to make 6 qt.. that is what the book said as well. just want to double check everything with you all... im sure this has been talked about a lot but just want to be really sure...

I wasnt sure if it took 5 or 6 quarts myself. Only have 700miles on mine right now so not quite ready for a change yet.

Just did the first oil change on my V6 as well, 6qts of 5-30W Mobil-1 Full Syn also. Did anyone else have trouble finding the oil filters for these things? I thought since this engine made it into several caddy's they'd be an easy find at the local autozone. Ended up getting a couple factory oil filters from my dealer. At seven bucks a pop, it wasn't so bad
