Tires in Canada???

Winter approaches in Canada :(
Thankfully, I'm in Tropical Canada (Vancouver), and I don't use the Camaro for work, so I'm just looking at All-Season tires (she'll be parked for the one week the snow flies).
Shopping online, though, everybody wants to sell me SUV tires! WTF?!?

Anybody have any experience with getting all-seasons in Canada - how much did they cost, what did you get, where did you get them???

Can't say I can help you with getting tires in the Pacific northwest. I bought the 20" Pirelli scorpion Ice and snow tires last year. They were recommended by the GM folks, and even by a couple of tire sites (tirerack and my local Belle Tire).

The reason I posted is that those recommended tires are listed on Pirelli's site as SUV tires. So I wouldn't be too worried by that.

I bought winters and rims from tirerack.com last year. Even after paying an arm and a leg for shipping they were still waaaaay less expensive than sourcing locally. Plus they have deals with local installers so I got them installed and balanced as part of the price. You might be able to get a good deal on all-season tires from tirerack.

small tires

I am looking for quality feedback, so hopefully someone can help.
I presently have 245x55x18" tires and am thinking of putting 225x65x17 winter tires on.

Any suggestions?

I have a set of 20 inch rims for sale if anyone is interested in having original rims with their snow tires.

Thanks for all the input!
I'm going to talk to the dealer - apparently my family has a dedicated service advisor, who cuts us breaks (who knew...)
I'm interested in the Continental DWS - it seems like a nice balance between All-Season durability and Winter traction. I'll also see what the dealer recommends, and what Tire Rack prices out.
