Supercharged L99 By MTI Racing

Bottom line up front. Awsome Power!! Dealing with the MTI Racing technicians has been a real pleasure. They were able to answer all the questions I had about drivability and real performance in relation to the options I was considering for my car. The following is a list of additions and dyno numbers.

TVS 2300 Supercharger
MTI Racing stage I cam
American Racing stainless steel Headers
Cold Air Intake
Dyno Tuning
Transmission Tuning

533 HP (at the wheels)
502 FT LBS. Torgue

My car remains extremely drivable at any speed. Without the addition of a high stall torque converter. They did a great job with the tuning and, the results. Impressive, 533 RWHP !! The torque curve is smooth all the way through the rpm range, so the power is always there. I was hoping for close to 500 HP, so my expectations were reached and then some. The power really comes in around 2200 RPM which is just above cruising speed. The whole package is really matched together well and looks as though it was put together at the factory. They told me the car will be the way it should have been produced from the factory and they were right. This car is now a BEAST, I haven`t run into anything yet that comes close. If you are looking for awesome power, give these guys a call. It has been a pain free process and they did the job in 5 days. You won`t be disappointed!

Congratulations! MTI guys are great! only ones that have touched my car, was up there on Friday for more suspension to get all my power to the pavement. my list of mods they have done is long, but basically getting 608 to the wheels thru maggie and there other stuff. they are putting rear suspension pieces in next week. trailing arms, toe end arms, tunnel brace and sub frame brace. tired of letting pretend bmw's stay on my door while i spin until 5th gear when I start to walk away. Steve, Kevin, Reese and all their techs are top notch. like I said, I just went up there to hang out on friday. enjoy the power. btw, the "power you should have had from the factory" is a common saying there.

MTI Location and Cam mods

MTI Racing is located in Marrieta, Georgia. They have a great looking facility there, and a lot of really fast cars. They only do work on GM products and really know their stuff. I was looking for a shop that would do the things I wanted with no doubt that it would be done right. There are a lot of really good racing shops out there but, I would give these guys a call if you want to know what you are getting for your money. They shoot straight and have a ton of experience.

The Stage I cam is what I have. It was worth about 70 or so HP with the combination I have. The Headers have 1 7/8 inch tubes and everything else is 3 inch all the way back. It has a reasonable idle and works well with the stock torque converter. I would say it`s pretty close to the most aggressive cam that will work well without a high stall converter. Which was exactly what I wanted. These cams are produced to MTI specs by Competition Cams and has performed precisely as they described.

I'm running the same setup from MTI and love it. Only problem is the Ford guys keep bring in ringers at the local drag strip.

Audio of Idle

Check back in tomorrow and I will post you some video/audio of the idle. I was worried it would not be smooth enough to drive around in, say, a parking lot at the theater. I can tell you, it`s not a problem at all.

The Ford boys have been playing catch up. They may be fast but they are spending an extra 30 grand to do it right now. I can`t get the local GT500 boys to put their ole heaps on the strip. LOL...

Maybe you're not asking the right people? Bring it up to Beech Bend on the 18th and I know of a couple GT500's that will be happy to put their cars on the same track as yours. A local middle-Tennessee group has rented the track for the day and you can make as many passes as you feel like.

More info here:

Glad to see your happy with the work done on your car by MTI. I know a few locals who've had some work done there and they seem just as happy with their experiences. Once you get some track times, make sure you post them up.
