Thumbs down The Dealer FECKED Up My Paint!! - WARNING - Not 56k Friendly

this is a "Paint Chip Spoiler Victim" gone too far...

i went in to have the paint chips taken care of... while my car was there, the person driving it backed it into another car on the lot. i was told about this AFTER i was called and told that my Camaro was ready to be picked up. it had already been there for 8 days straight. so when i arrived, i went back to the body shop and saw that the rear bumper was taken off and being prepped for paint.

i was promised that everything would be back to "100% like new". but instead, this is looking like just another thing to add to THE LIST of dealer repairs to my Camaro.

my experience has been a NIGHTMARE!

so, yeah, dig my rawhide & orange peel textured paint.

This is why I just had them touch up the areas under my spoiler....I didn't want them to break the factory paint

A great paint job that looks like factory is hard to do...but what they did to your car and then tried to pass it off to you is just ridiculous!

i've had this car for over a year. it looked so much nicer just months ago when i only had the "stock" paint chips under the spoiler, not these thick curling shards of paint.

i'm right in the middle of "talks" right now... lots of phone calls, lots of dealer visits, lots of meeting with management...

yeah, looks like it was worked on by the trunk monkey with a crow bar in hand!

maybe i should have asked them to buy me a case of Rustoleum GLOSSY BLACK and done it myself in my driveway, masking everything off with tape and newspaper.

the trunk lid doesn't look bad (other than the chipping under the spoiler, and the nasty "SS")... the bumper looks horrible.

Wow! I feel your pain.
Do not go easy on these guys. This is the main reason I'm so afraid to have any dealer do paint work or any shop that's more concerned with getting the job done cheap and fast than doing quality work.

My last car (Honda) had similar issues with paint chips around the head and tail lights. Took it to the dealer and a week later I got my car back completely ruined. They sprayed the entire car minus the doors. So not only was the paint not matching the doors, there were swirl marks and light scratches over the entire car. Looked like someones cat just went crazy.
I was so furious. I made them repaint everything, and it took them 3 times to get it right and even then it wasn't perfect.

Good luck and I hope your experience isn't anything like mine.

I would be walking in carrying the heaviest and meanest crowbar I could find to 'discuss nicely with Mr. Bodyshop'. Utilize the crowbar only IF negotiations for a new trunk lid and bumper are not satisfactory. All of the above are the result of crappy - er - NO PREP before they sprayed.

Dumb people need to realize that these cars are huge investments that are loved, and not just some Aveo.
