Injen CAI Issue and Resolution

I recently purchased the Injen Cold Air intake system through Jannety Racing. Great company by the way. So after installing everything and going for a drive I get on the highway to try it out get off on an exit and I get a check engine light. The Car starts to vibrate unusually almost stalling out. I head back home and call onstar to get the codes. P0304=Mis-Fire on cylinder 4 and P069E=Fuel Pump Control Module. After about 10 key cycles the CEL go's away and the car runs normal. Me and a friend did some further research and found some info on oiled air filters being to oiled can cause the MAF to get oil residue on it and cause the car to ping. So for anyone who is getting a check engine light or problem similar to this after installing an oiled CAI filter check the MAF Sensor to ensure it is connected tight and secure. And also check the filter to ensure it does not have excessive oil. My buddy told me when he would clean and oil his filters he would let the filter sit in the sun oiled up for 2-3 hours to allow any excess oil to leak off. Hopefully this helps you guys and have a great weekend.

The dry filter was the reason I bought it.

Yes, the web site even says it's a dry filter. I thought the instructions said to disconnect the negative side of the battery during installation. Isn't this similar to a fuse pull ? This would allow the system to re-learn and eliminate the problem with a CEL I believe.

off injen website

2 STAGE AIR FILTER
Constructed of surgical cotton gauze, the filter element comes precisely oiled to maintain consistent airflow and prevent obstructions to the intake system. Each filter is specifically chosen for every application, as the dimensions, pleat and flow rate are highly crucial to optimal performance gains.
