Not sure on the QTP cutouts but in regards to CAI then I have to throw my vote to Cold Air Inductions.

CAI in Chrome

CAI in Black

Cutouts are cool for a while but a PITA eventually. At some point they stick because of extreme heat and moisture changes. Motors go out, etc.

This right here along with the fact that they hang down is why I am going with a muffler delete. I heard a muffler delete this past weekend and it sounded awesome! You'd be surprised how non invasive it is, but with 2 cats per pipe plus a resonator (4 cats, 2 resonators) and an H pipe it's actually pretty tame.

I have noweeds diverters they sound great but not worth the headaches ,when ] had them installed. The car sounded like it had a bad exhaust leak, and they were bumping the underside of car,my mechanic had to lower the exhaust and some how adjusted the divert to close to stop the exhaust leak ,you have to spray them with WD 40 to try to help them from sticking, when I'm gonna take the car for a ride and plan on using them I have to open them up ,the crack the seal,if i try to open them when the car is warmed up they will not open,I have to wait for the car to cool down to open them,

I bought some QTP cut-outs, but haven't installed them yet, they're still sitting in my trunk. I have a Solo Mach-X Catback, and plan on installing Long Tube headers soon. From what I've heard, once the headers are installed, it will be plenty loud!!! So, I might not install the cut-outs at all, not sure yet!!

I have had my QTP cutouts for almost a year now with no issues. I love the ability to open and close them at will. I think the best sound is leaving them 50% open. I don't know if it's a wiring thing but the annoying thing about them is when you turn off the car they close when you restart it. When you start it they are open and you get that nice V8 growl, then they start to close and you have to reopen them again. I would prefer they would stay open until I hit the button to close them.

I have found that since I've had them that I don't open them as much as I used to. I used to open them all the time, now I open them occasionally. If you slow down and leave the car in gear the back pressure makes the car backfire and sounds pretty bad. If you have a stick and take it out of gear it doesn't do it. Not sure why but the pick up from a dead stop is much slower with the cutouts open -vs- closed. I'm sure it has something to do with back pressure. From about 3000RPM and up there is a noticable difference in speed with them open.

I've had the Race Ready Performance cutouts for about a year with no issues. They sound great, and my quarter-mile times average 0.2 seconds faster with them open. I mounted the rocker switch on the console, and it looks like an OEM switch (although the only time I close them is going through the drive-thru). Here's the link if you want to check them out:

Remember, if it's too loud, you're too old!
