Window Sticker Question? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

When you order a new car does the window sticker come on the car from GM or does the dealer put it on? I wanted to keep the window sticker and did not want to have to remove it from the window.

Mine was laying on the dash when it came off the truck.

It normally comes in a plastic bag in the trunk with the rest of the paperwork.

Most of them will save it for you anyway, but ask them to make sure they keep it. They'll also save the build sheet for you if you ask them to. It's pretty neat with all the codes on it, build date, and some other things.

Camaros and Corvettes it's stuck to the windshield by just the lower adhesive strip, and it then lays on the top of the dash. They can't stick it to the side windows on those two models because the only side windows go down and could tear up the label. Most other cars, it will be on a back window.

Just tell the dealer to be carefull removing and save it for you.

The dealer can order a duplicate for you at no charge in case it gets damaged or if you want a second copy.

The only difference is it will say "reprint" at the bottom.

Dealer should save it for you - you are supposed to get it. And, yes, your dealer can get a duplicate... (he can also add dealer installed stuff to it)

By federal law, the Monroney (window sticker) has to come with the car: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monroney_sticker

Yes it comes with the car so people can see all that stuff listed about the car but it doesn't mean it comes to you when you buy the car. Do not assume it will be in trunk or in the car, or that the dealer or PID person will save it for you when you pick up the car. Let them know specifically that you want that stuff saved!

mine was on the dash when unloaded from the truck and it was never stuck on, told them to put it in the glove box and they did.
