First major boo-boo. Have an insurance question.

So I was heading home and needed to make a turn, but there was a school bus in the street I was turning onto letting kids off. Didn't realize that until I was starting the turn. I started to realize I was stuck on something. The street intersection was so tight, I could do much but go forward. All the way, hearing the scraping and knocking.

My only concern at this point, is how this is covered on the insurance. Comprehensive or collision. It's a matter of a huge deductable. Comp is $100 and Collision is $2,000.

If it's collision, I know the cost to repair would be below $2,000, but how much I don't know. Looks like just the lower panel can be replaced, what do those run?

It is cheaper to buy a used rocker panel. Bet there are plenty of painted stock rocker panels off Camaros that have the stock ones replaced by the GM ground effects kit or otherwise, for a good price. I have a pair of stock IOM ones..but don't wanna sell but ask around here.

The good news is I happen to have 2 of those panels in the rafters in my garage left over from when I got my GFX body kit. I also have the rear diffuser panel.

The bad news is that they are black, but it may be less than 2 grand to ship them and I'm sure we can come to a reasonable agreement on the price.

FWIW

AFAIK they are ... the GFX kit I put on my car was an SS kit. Except for the splitter which fits a bit differently but it worked out just fine.

They are the same length and have the same number of clips.

Don't think there would be a problem.

I have a money back guarantee. I'll even send them to him for the shipping cost and deal with the purchase later.

I just hate to see a damaged Camaro. My G4 '88 has 160K miles on it and still has factory sheet metal and factory paint (it does need to be repainted though ).

FWIW. I have them if he wants them.
