I've been wondering now for a while...why does the Red Jewel Tintcoat have an additional charge? And how much is the additional charge? Do we even know? Sorry these may be dumb questions but I'm a little new at this.

On the 2ss I ordered it was $250, and I am not sure why it is an additional charge but I have seen it on an Impala and I just love it.

It requires additional work. Basically they paint the car the red color, then they spray on a coat of tinted clear which gives it that deeper look and then they do the final clear.

Not at all...I've been post-whoring here for a long time and I was wondering the exact same thing.

My wife became much more interested in the Camaro when I showed her RJT. She loves red and she loves sparkly stuff. So sparkly red Camaro = wife much more willing to consider me getting a Camaro = win!

I have a 2008 Buick Enclave with the red jewel tintcoat and love it, especially in the sunlight. I'll probably get it on the Camaro too.

Awesome news about the RJT, it looks to me like it is worth the small extra charge.

Yeah I figured it had to be an additional coat of some sort and a little extra work, but that's a small price to pay for such a nice color. If only I could decide between that and the Silver Ice Metallic....hmmmm.

My 2002 Trailblazer LT has it and so does my 2007 Avalanche LTZ. It looks amazing. I park both trucks outside and in the harsh Canadian climate, they are holding up amazingly well.

It's a $750 option on the vette, so consider it a bargain.
