Number 3 and Heather, Question!!

Tell me what you think about the inside of the car. Back in 2006 I looked at a 2006 Gt Mustang and it just looked to dang cheap inside. To plastic looking and the silly plastic chrome around the air vents and the speakers sticking out of the door turned me off. Ended up leasing a 2006 Accord waiting for Camaro to come.

Order 2SS Rally Yellow on Oct. 14th. Just hopes it gets here before the Honda's lease is up on the 15th of April.

I think that most of your opinion on the interior will be based on radio/HVAC control area and the gauges. The interior is pretty well laid out, the controls are easy to get to and use. And the Camaro has a unique steering wheel which I think is pretty nice. I will say that the car I'm driving has the leather steering wheel and shift knob, which I would recommend.

I have spent a lot of time in a G8. Here is what I like about the Camaro relative to the G8......G8 Cruise Control uses the Holden twist knob (like the GTO) Camaro is on the wheel - win Camaro. The G8 has a knob to adjust the seat back the Camaro has a power recliner standard - win Camaro. The G8 has the window controls on the center stack behind the shift lever the Camaro has them on the door - win Camaro (unless you like them on the console). I think the gauges on the G8 and G8 GXP are more plain and the Camaro has the retro style if you will - so win Camaro. I think the big win for the G8 would be the color monitor for the radio (no NAV in either car) and I'm not sure that would look right in the Camaro. The Camaro has a retro theme while the G8 is more contemporary. I think (my OPINION) if you knew your early Camaros and I put you in the new car without badges....you would know immediately you were in a Camaro, especially with the optional quad cluster below the radio. So is that a good thing for you? It is like the exterior......it looks land feels ike a Camaro.

Well I had a 99 Grand Prix GTP and I am used to the GM plastic control surfaces. What I hated on the Mustang was it just looked cheap and the door speakers looked like something a kid would of done cutting a hole in an old stang. I also had gen 4 Camaro but only a V6. I am ready for real muscle of my 2SS.

The color monitor like the G8 has is the one feature I wish they had put into the Camaro. I understand the desire to be retro, but the Challenger is even more retro than the Camaro, and it gets a nice monitor. At a certain point, the desire for going retro has to give way to the need to be up-to-date and modern.

How is the seating position in the Camaro compared to the G8? The G8 seats are at a comfortable height and give you a nice view of the road. Are the Camaro's seats lower?

The control layout looks great to me. Overall gauge and control design is a bit too stylized, but I don't dislike it, especially not as much as some people here do. It is at least unique, something the Challenger can't claim. The 2010 Mustang has a clean layout that is still unique, and the materials are top notch. GM has some great materials in the CTS and Malibu, so as long as that material quality carries over into the Camaro, I'll be happy but I still think the new new Mustang wins overall.

Mustang interior = nice, but BORING. Maybe if I never saw the Camaro's interior I'd be more impressed, but the Mustang's center-stck just looks uninspired to me. The Challenger shouldn't even be brought up in any discussions about interiors unless you're talking about the best cabin to make a driver fall asleep behind the wheel.

While I can't speak for the 2010 Mustang, I recently test drove a 2008 GT/CS(the lady wants one, sorry guys). Unfortunately the car we drove will most likely end up being one that falls under the lemon law, so naturally I was pretty disappointed in the car all together. I thought the interior in that car was horribly cheap plastic, garbage! EW! That's one of my bigger concerns when looking at a new car.

I've read that most of the Camaro interior panels are plastic, but the fit is good. Well I guess it could be worse. I guess I got spoiled from my girl's 05 WRX interior, and my 04 GTO. From recent photos of the main gauges, they appear to be the worst part of the interior for me now, they appeared much nicer in the earlier pics. I guess i'll have to wait until the Camaro shows up on lots so I can check out the interior. Love the outside, Love the powertrain options, but the interior will be the deciding factor for me.
