installed PDM and Steering Wheel controls...question

So, I installed the steering wheel controls and the PDIM (USB interface) and will be going in to the dealership to have them program the stuff....My question is, for those of you who have done it, or any tech gurus, do any of you have the numbers or anything that would help the dealership do it? I mean I do not want to go in to my dealership that hasn't done this before and have them mess up my car or charge me up the arse....

any specific instructions I should be telling my stealership?

PDIM instructions

Quote:
Using a Scan tool with GMLan communication capability, Service Programming System (SPS-TIS2WEB or equivalent) My dealer mentioned something called an MDI.

17. Perform the radio calibration upgrade. This will allow the radio to recognise the PDIM. This is required on all vehicles that have not had the PDIM installed before.

18. Perform a PDIM calibration upgrade. This will ensure the PDIM has the latest level of software available.
Steering wheel controls

You may need to contact Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC) for a VCI number to recalibrate the BCM.
I would check both the PDIM thread and steering wheel controls thread to see if there is a dealer near you that has already done one of these installs.

thanks Slick...I have checked both threads...in fact I followed them through my install. I just wanted to see if there was a specific service number, sheet number or anything I could hand them so they would know exactly what to do....thanks again!!

that is soooo easy..took me 15 minutes...

the PDIM took me a little longer because of the stupid screws on the rear bottom of the console...they make it hard for you to take off because of limited space....

The goal of that post was to grow the list and help others save a few dollars, but not many people have shared their results.

Share the results, even if they're negative, so others know where not to go.

So, I'm here at my dealership. They got the steering wheel controls programmed....but.....they are having a hard time programming the PDIM!!! I left them the instructions on the front seat and they still cannot get it to work......I'm at a lost for words. They told me that they have to call GM techline and see what's going on. I've been here for 3 hrs!

ok, got the stuff programmed. You can add "RUDOLPH CHEVROLET" to the list

paid $141 out the door to get both PDIM, and steering wheel controls programmed.
