My new 2002 SS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I was planning to get a 5th Gen next Spring, but after some serious consideration of my finances I decided to go with a used 4th Gen. I began searching for one in June and this past Tuesday I picked up my new Navy Blue 2002 SS that I found on the Autotrader from a Buick dealership in Gurnee, IL.

FWIW there are a lot of low- mileage 2002 models out there for sale if you're willing to travel to get one. Seems like there were a lot of people who thought that they'd be able to make their fortunes with one of the "last" Camaros, bought one, hid it in storage while they waited for a Barrett- Jackson auction in 2022, and then GM screwed 'em all by bringing it back.

Anyway, my new car had less than 10,500 miles on it when I started my trip home to KY. It still smells new and I couldn't be happier.

Sounds like my 'Bird. However the results of storage and lack of basic cleaning left it looking like it has 3 times as many miles..

Still runs like a bat outta hell for a base T/A. Pity SLP didn't want Maple Red for the WS6 package.

How much did they end up charging ya?

Car looks great. For the money, 4th gens are where its at. Just as much fun, cheap mods, and T Tops. Do some basic mods to your LS1 and you will love it.

I thought the WS6 package wasn't associated with SLP? Only the Firehawk.

Correct. The WS6 was the package from GM and had nothing to do with the Firehawk.
