Caliper Paint

Has anyone tried the G2 Brake Caliper Paint System? I know powder coating is probably the best way to go but would like to hear some opinions on the paint.

I don't know about the G2, as I was up in the air between G2 and DupliColor caliper kit. I ended up with the Duplicolor, and it was pretty easy to apply. I just did it this weekend.

Looks GOOD. I haven't seen much on the DupliColor though.

it's like the G2, for full time to setup, 24 hours (better bring A LOT of books). But drying time to put a second coat on, about 45 min. I put 4 coats on pretty easy. Then Brembo decals, and some Clear Satin high temp paint over top.

I really don't think you would go wrong with either. If I had to do it again, I would probably still do the same thing.. flip a coin and go with it. I had no problems with the duplicolor kit (brake cleaning stuff, paint, brush, stir stick). I know the G2 has the same stuff and many people on here have loved that also.

Thanks for all your input guy's. I think I'm going with the G2 kit. Just worried if 1 kit is going to be enough for those big calipers.

is there any reason to use these paint kits over just buying the matching paint? want to do mine to but really want to paint it IOM to match my car. still not so sure how the g2 orange will look. found some people who can make/mix the IOM paint. was thinking about buying this iom paint and putting like 4 coats then clear coat on the calipers. any reason this wouldnt work?

This guy did his with G2 orange kit and it looks fine:

Cant even really tell that the color is identical to IOM. Im thinking of just using DupliColor engine paint. Its rated to 500 degrees F and wont chip, crack, or peel. As long as you buy a spray or paint thats rated for high temps put on a nice clear coat you should be fine.
