CEL code just now after 2300 miles since install - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey just thought I would throw this up and see what people think it might be. Dont have a scanner or anything. Can autozone do it?

Car has 2300 miles since Mods installed and tuned by livernois.
Maggie 8psi
kooks headers
noweeds exhaust
rotofab
bap
ported tb

Any auto parts store should be able to scan & clear the code. Post up what it is but I would not be to concerned.

Be smart buy a scanner.

Car is throwing a code for a reason, figure out the reason. SC is more than likely right in it isnt a big deal however it it were me I would buy a scanner (I like tools) and figure out what the code is.

Advance auto has some decent ones or around $100. Just make sure it is the latest version as the capabilities are increasing & the prices decreasing.

GAK I hate autozone, I usually look at Amazon if you can stand waiting for it to ship to you.

Or if you gotta have one, check out Amazon, narrow down your choices then hit up autozone or better yet Advanced Auto.

Does the maggie come with a tuner? If so you probably already have one.

I had it read and turned off at autozone. Guy asked if I just got gas and I did about 30 miles ago and it was lesser quality kroger 93 intead of the shell 93 I had been using. Vehicle was running while fueling to half a tank. I did notice right after I got gas that the car was lightly bucking rolling around in mall parking lot and then another few miles not sure when the CEL was on. I havent got on the car but once since the gas fill up so it may have came on then? I am sure you already know but it listed:

possible causes
oxygen sensor defective
ignition misfire-repair
fuel injector problem

What do you suggest now that the code is off and 1/4 tank of gas left?

k so should I run it almost out and then put good in or just add good now? Should I stay away from track on sunday or put some of the race gas sold at the track in it?

Run it you biotch!!

I'd fill it now with gd gas and run as much as you can through the car. Maybe some 100 at the track will help balance out the remaining bad gas that is lingering after this fillup. I've had to shut cel lights of while sitting in the staging lanes so if it seems ok it probably is. Thats gd is wasn't a major issue!

p0171 Is fuel system lean bank1. Your tank of gas did not set this code, nor will gas correct it. This code is set because the trim system has extended (heavy positive trimming) past a threshold in it's correction of the driver's side. This is definitely something to look into.
