The aftermarket will be HUGE
And the prices will probably be a bit higher than the previous gens because of the gap in years since they were last out.

I agree, just look at the announcements already by certain tuning houses about their plans for tuning the car already, and it's not even out yet! Also, look at the whole set of GM performance parts already announced for this car. GM itself is acknowledging the big aftermarket interest there will be for the 5th gen.

There are many aftermarket parts available now. Corvette has the LS3 motor not to mention the LS motor has been around a while so there are plenty of speed parts. The Camaro only parts will be long & short tube headers due to body & undercarriage design plus there will be cosmetic aftermarket.
Once the aftermarket companies get thier hands on an actual Camaro if they haven't already the aftermarket will grow quickly on Camaro speed and cosmetic upgrades. Take a look at Corvette, G8, GTO and Cadillac CTS-V forums for ideas. |

I called SLP earlier today and the rep on the phone agreed that it won't take them long at all to get their headers/CAI and other goodies ready once they actually get ahold of a Camaro. Kinda surprised me that GM hasn't hooked them up with one yet to start getting parts ready
Oh well, i'm sure they will have stuff ready by the time people start getting their cars in. He was under the impression that they won't be getting access to the V8's right away since they got G8 V6's well before they got the V8's from GM. I told him that hopefully that's not going to be the case with the Camaro since our insiders here have stated that they will be making a split of both V6's and V8's right away.

I contacted Kooks headers to see if they needed a "guinea pig" car...they said they've already got LT headers completed.
They just need to work on the X-pipe. Maybe the headers are really close (or the same) as the G8's.

No worries, the aftermarket will be out in force. Especially SLP. Of course they will undoubtedly more expensive, but every one of their products is worth it. You get what you pay for, especially with performance.

All this talk of SLP reminds me. I saw a 4th gen with SLP tags a couple of weeks ago. Of course I didn't need the tags to tell me it was an SLP Camaro that thing was LOUD!!!
![]() I can't wait to see their products on the 5th gens. |
