Yet Another "Disable Running Lights" Thread

I did a quick search but there were no threads that answered my specific question. I have a 2LT/RS camaro and wanted to make it so that my DRL's were completely turned off and the Halo lights could be wired to always come on automatically. I know you can manually switch the setting in the car, but its a huge hassle to switch the settings every time you get in the car. The halo lights look great on the car and its a hassle to turn them on every time you get in the car.

Right now the best thing you can get is Fieldgoal00's wiring harness.

So a search and you'll find the info.

What a lazy civilization we have become.

Put the key in with the right hand, reach down and turn the little nob one measly click, then pull the seat belt across your chest..... phew, may need to go back inside the house and take a nap after all that work.

LOL....that's funny.

For me it's not as much lazy as lack of memory. I sometimes forget to turn them off....and the wife never does.

I don't think he's being lazy...he's identified a function which he doesn't prefer and is looking for a solution, because GM did not provide one. Ok, so maybe he used the wrong wording in saying it's a "huge hassle" but I understand how the small stuff can bug someone. For instance, having to change to "random" every time I play music off my USB drive - start ignition, press button, scroll twice to the right, press "Back". Big deal? Not really, it's as simple as that but I do wish I didn't have to do it every single time, because it's just one extra step that stops me from driving it.

I can't believe this guy drives a vehicle instead of walking or running everywhere.

How lazy he's become.

Oh good zinger, you think of that all by yourself??

At least I can flip the switch to turn on my halos everytime I start my car.

The problem isn't turning off the lights when getting into the car, it’s remembering to turn them back on when night falls. I wish you could disable the DRL without also disabling the night time auto lights feature.
