LT Wheels VS SS Wheels

Hello,

I have a 2010 LT2 V6 with the factory 18inch wheels, can anyone tell me if I can put the 19 or 20 inch SS wheels and tires on it with no issues? I understand that the stock 19 or 20s that can come on some LT models will not fit the SS because of caliper issues but was not sure if I could put SS wheels on the LT without an issue?

Nest question would you recommend 19 inch or 20 inch wheels?

Thank you for your response in advance.

JC

I would just go for the 20's if you can find them with decent rubber still on them. Dont forget that upgrading your brakes is needed to stop the much heavier wheels/tires at a distance close to what you have now.

if you have a 2 lt you should have 19's already not 18's. but i say go 20's or after market. can turn out cheaper?

There are ZERO fitment issues putting any factory Camaro wheels on the LT.

The problem is the other way around -- the 18" 'Heritage' wheels don't allow for enough clearance with the Brembo brake calipers.

I have a 2LT RS and bought a set of the 18" LS wheels for winter -- no issues at all. I have the 20" polished aluminum wheels for summer.

Good luck!

Actually your stopping the car. The larger Dia. rims and tires applying more torque only if the final Dia. is larger sense the 20" rim has a lower profile tire. Just sayin.

Also I'd guess that the aluminum rims are lighter than the steel Haritage. but I'm not sure.

Thanks guys for the quick info. Just so I have this correct I will have no issues
with the 20 SS wheels and and tires, and my current calipers and rotors should be fine as long as I stay with 20 or under? Just want to make sure before I press the buy it now on eBay ! Thanks

You will still be able to break your vehicle , just not as short of a distance as you can now.

It was a demo that they swapped the original wheels and tires out for a customer that purchased an LS that was on the lot before me, So I ended up on the short end of the deal I guess.
