Amber Or Red ? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Alright i did a search and didnt come up for what i was looking for so i figured id post.
I Have a black ss With A heritage Grill And Flat Black Stripes.
And im looking to get Red Halos And red Behind The Grills So at Night They would glow Red. ( Yes I know Red Is Ilegal )
Alright well sense there is no other red emblems On the Car i could also go Amber and get away with it. ( I love Black/Red Tho )
So in yalls Opinons Would You Rather Get The Red Anf Not Be able to Use them All The time or strech For Amber and have Functionality ?
Also I Searched I couldent Find Any Amber Halos on an RS, Package can someone post one thanks.

That amber looks red enough that I think you'd still have trouble. Personally I'm too much of a chicken to do either one. Black/Red would be amazing, but I'd just be too worried about legal issues.

Yea I saw the amber in person thinking it was red I went in telling the owner how the red look really nice only to be told nicely if course that it wasn't red but amber but still looked reddish to me

So you think Ambers the way to go ? If it looks red or atleast not to orange im in. Il just haft to carry the Recipt around if i get pulled over to prove its amber lol

I have the Amber CCFL's from AAC...They are Orange for sure.....

Be very careful here. In most states both are illegal as Amber is reserved for special functions (turn signals, hazard lights etc) which makes them illegal to have as halos.

Imo, you are better off getting dual colored lights. This way you can have the red for showing the car off and still have white for driving. I believe AAC sells these as well.

JAB, one of the guys in our club has them (the ambler) ALL THE WAY AROUND! its Dangeruss, he will most likely be at the meet this weekend at teh Woodleands if you want to see them in person. His are not dual color jsut straight amber, and he has had NO PROBLEMS with the color or the law.

Varies. And it's not just a fine if you get pulled. You get charged with Impersonating an Officer which in most states is a felony.

In NC, Impersonating an Officer is jail time (I think min is 6 months), a fine, and impounding of the vehicle in question where they remove the illegal parts (trust me I've seen it done and it is not pretty. They are not gentle when they do it). If it's your 3rd offense it's an automatic sell at auction.
