Possible project to move center vent

OK first, please forgive my horrible photoshopping skills. If I actually knew what I was doing I'd make it look like how I'd want it with trim pieces and everything. Perhaps, if I get some time I'll do that at a later date depending on what people think about this initially.

Some people would like to add an IPAD to the Camaro but, with the placement of the center vent, you pretty much have to cover up the factory head unit or any other head unit that you may put in it's place. So, I thought to myself, what if we just moved the center vent up. If you look at the dash gauge cluster there is kind of a bubble effect on top of the dash that surrounds where the gauges go. This could be done for the center vent to frame it. Moving the actual vent probably wouldn't be that big of a deal since it's just tubing. Cut the tube and add some length to where the new location is and you're there. The hard part would be fabricating the "bubble" like the dash gauges and perhaps the trim pieces above the head unit where the vent used to be and where the IPAD would now reside. I don't have any expertise in this area but, perhaps there are some members or sponsors on here that do and could take this idea and run with it. Maybe I'm out of my mind but, I think it could look really sweet done properly. Like I said, my photoshop job isn't exactly what I picture in my mind but, it's at least a rough sketch, so to speak. Thoughts???

its a cool idea but you would probably be better off replacing the stock radio unit completely with an ipad

Sorry that's just not working for me. The iPad is too big for the area regardless of where you put the vent. Looks way too cluttered and I guess I don't really see the point of it when you could just put an iPod in anyway. Unless you wanted it for video which would be a very bad idea to integrate there. It's bad enough with people texting and talking on the phone, let alone watching movies or playing with their apps.
