single 3'' exhaust from twin 3''
Now ive got a question and ive got my car a sedan, LS3 stock LS3 cam. I have 4>1 headers 3'' hiflo cats.
Im getting the twin 3'' system replaced with a custon single 3'' system. being 3'' Y Pipe from the cats into single 3''. Now ive done this to pickup the bottm end and also i personally like the sound of a single. Question will i loose bucket loads of power? I properly loose abit uptop but gain torque down low. As the car is daily driver thru stop start traffic i think it will be a good compromise Some say a single can flow 500 hp? Im not even close to that and i feel a twin 3'' on a stock cam a overkill Whats your thoughts |

I say definently not. Get gears, cost more, but worth it for the low end torque.

Ive been told by at least two local workshops a single 3'' setup is ok for 500 hp, with good headers and cats and a twin 3'' is like for 600 hp, I still think a twin 3'' is a overkill, The bigger pipes slow gas velocity down if you havent got a supercharger or big cam. Im not saying theres anything wrong with a twin 3'' on a stock cammed car as theres not, im just saying a smaller pipe may push the gas quicker creating more off the line torque. I guess i will soon find out.

well i had my single 3'' put on today and its more throaty but its coming off and going back to twin 3''. I tried this and it failed to much dissapointed
It the single 3'' seem to be abit more better down low, but runs out of puff up top. The single sounds more crisper and the twin 3'' more hollow. I dunno why on earth i changed now as ive already sold my top of the line twin 3'', so back to square one
