Selecting songs by voice commands while plugged into USB
Hello all,
I recently had some trouble with my iPhone 4 while trying to choose songs etc using Voice Commands through Bluetooth while still connected to the USB port. I've found that when I have the phone connected to both the voice and media Bluetooth channels as well as the USB port, the USB connection seems to blow up on me - fair enough, that's a lot of connections to be handling all at once. Using just both the Bluetooth channels works as far as playing songs goes especially now that Apple upgraded their OS to allow skipping through tracks with the steering wheel controls, but I like having what I'm listening to up on the radio screen and anyway every so often the Bluetooth link won't work forcing me to shut off the car, open/close/open the door to totally reset everything and start over, WHEN I have the time for it (I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to see about getting the PDIM updated, which hopefully will help resolve that), so I'm not happy about that. Anyway what I tried recently was to leave just the phone/voice Bluetooth channel open and connect the phone via USB. I seem to be able to get through the menus easily enough ("Bluetooth" > "Voice" works fine for phone calls), but even after the phone recognizes whatever artist or album I call out, it refuses to actually play the song. I can find what I want going through the radio menus of course, but being able to say what I want to hear does keep my eyes on the road. Am I trying to do something which is even possible, and if so has anyone else run into this? |
