wiring of metra kit

i installed a kenwood with the metra kit.
to get all the wires and harnesses in the dash board, i had to cut out more of the sub dash radio support that is shown in the metra installation guide.

i'm not sure but i think that under the opening for the radio, there is someting that is getting quite hot. and this is also the place where now a part of the wires is placed.
does anyone know if this is a proplem or knows something about this?
