engine rough, oil psi low at idle

Tonight the engine started running rough at idle and I noticed that the oil pressure would drop to about 15psi or so. After a few stoplights the check engine light came on and the info area said Service Stabiltrac. I checked the oil when I got home, and it looks fine. The pressure goes back up when i'm driving, but the starts are rough too (as it builds psi).

I'll take it to service on monday, but anyone have an idea? Oil pump?

Also, is it ok to take it to any Chevy dealer for warrenty work? I bought it at the dealer across town, and like the service center of the local one.

Thanks

Jim

Have you done any mods to the engine ? parts, tune ?

If your onstar is still active have them read the diagnostics for you.

You can take it to the service dept. of your choice. In fact with your onstar roadside if you broke down on the road they would tow it to the nearest dealer.

Good luck .

Mine did that one after the plug wires were replaced and I found one on the right side not seated properly... Secured the wire and all is good...Good luck and keep us posted as to what you find out.

This was probably the wrong forum for this question. Thanks guys. I'll check and see if anything is loose, if not i'll bring it to the dealer tomorrow.

Hot damn! That was it guys. I was looking around it last night but I was looking at the front most area. The service guy said it was from #6 (second one on the right side?). He said the tick tick was the plug firing.

I would love if there was one list of these small issues that anyone could at least check. I mean you can search for them but not get the right words. If it wasn't covered under warranty I'd be rather miffed what it cost for the diagnostic. Yes I would be relieved that it wasn't bigger. Just say'n

Anyone know of any other resources out there?
