Muffler Delete with Headers

I've been looking into different exhaust options; hp gain would be nice, but I'm also really looking for a nice sound. so far I like the sound of a muffler delete. I found a youtube video of a muffler delete, roto-fab CAI, and Kooks headers. I already have the roto-fab CAI as well. a couple questions: what type of tubing should i be using to do the muffler delete, stainless steel or aluminized metal? also, on the kooks website, the cost of the headers is $2400; I'm not looking to spend that much. Are there any other options that would lower the cost?

Here is a clip of mine with OBX headers and muffler delete.

Here is one after I installed a full catback from Kooks (Street Sleeper)

When doing anything to Exhaust Stainless Steel is the best.

As for Headers they all pretty much do the same thing. I went with OBX but there are other brands like ARH, Borla, Corsa, JBA. Stainless Works is about the best for your money buy. Talk to Alex at Apex Motorsports. i am sure he will be posting here also.

The price is great. I have a set but have to wait to get them installed.

a standard muffler delete is just the mufflers. If you want to help with the drone alittle buy an X pipe and remove the factory H wich is where the resonators are.

so i'm guessing that the youtube video left the resonator on? can the mufflers be taken off now and replace the h pipe at a later time?

The resonators can be taken off later. The mufflers will come off and the shop will replace the space with strait pipe and re-weld the tips on. I left mine alone until I replaced the entire cat back system.

i have a muffler delete, resonator delete and x pipe in my ride. not obnoxious at all, lost a little low end torque (not enough to be an issue, barely noticeable). my car sounds just like that one bro.

not too familiar with x-pipes, can you explain benefits of replacing the h-pipe(im guessing) with an x-pipe; and how much do they run?

Also if i leave the resonator, what difference in sound is there; is it possible to remove the resonator and not replace it with the x-pipe and get the same sound?

A muffler delete with LT's sounds like poop. Very raspy and unrefined. You are better off with something that has mufflers.

You can have the resonators cut out and replaced with strait pipe. I did not do it personally but I have heard that if you add an X pipe to a muffler delete system you will get less drone and less db popping.

ARH makes a really good X pipe. Not sure about cost.
