Early middle-age crissis.... My SS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Well, I'm not starting this from my first day of owning the car but should be neat to see how it progresses.
I bought my 2010 CGM SS a couple months ago after selling my '99 Jeep wrangler. I had done a lot to the Jeep and was kinda "finished" with it. I had never had a "fast" car in high school and was looking for something fun....I found it.
A good friend of mine, Jim Barr, from Smokey Jennings Chevrolet in Palmyra IL. had the car, kinda a demo, with about 3500 miles on it. Needless to say, being a friend Jim took care of getting me a great deal on the car. The car is a SS with the RS package, LS3. I think it's the 1SS package, I don't have a sunroof or the reverse sensors.
I now have 4700 miles on the car. I've added a Cold Air Inductions kit. A Hurst short-throw kit, I kept with the stock knob in place. I've also added side marker lights from AAC. The markers are tinted and painted CGM. These have definitely cleaned up the look of the car. Chevy was running they're $1500 free accessories deal when I bought it so a Heritage grill and GMPP "track pack" exhaust was added to the car. I've also added LED dome light, trunk light, and license plate lights. The car also came with the stripe kit.
As most of you have, I've got a lot of ideas for future changes:
Black out for the rear, replacing the bowtie with an SS
Windows are going to be tinted
Something done to the rear gills
painted taillight bezels
Stripes on the roof to match the hood/trunk
I like the stock rims, but have seen some aftermarket that may make it onto the car.
Engine/performance would include a set of gears for the rear-end, full exhaust w/ X pipe/headers. And when I've got $7000+ laying around that I don't know what to do with...A Procharger will eventually boost the number of ponies under the hood.
Well, that's it...for now, hope someone out there enjoys the project as much as I will. Never stock, gotta make it my own....

Looks good! Very clean. BTW i think you have leather seats which means that you have a 2SS. 1SS camaros came with cloth interior

Lol 2SS it is...should probably have known that. I've got an appointment for getting the windows tinted tomorrow. I'm thinking 40% on the driver passenger and really dark on the wing and rear windows....any input?

Just got back from the tint shop, Cosmo's Car Care in Maryville, Illinois. I went a little darker than I was originally thinking, but love the look. I went with 15% on the sides, "Limo" on the rear wing windows and rear window. We still have snow and the roads are sloppy so yes, I know it's not clean... If your local and looking for tint, check out Cosmo's great work, and a lifetime warranty on work & materials.

Ordered my LED DRL's from AAC yesterday, It's cool they're including the harness with the purchase of the bulbs. Looking forward to getting them in and seeing the result.

Blacked out the tail light bezels the other night. Vinyl on order from RiderGraphix for the front and rear facia black outs. I'll be taking off the rear bowtie, but not sure what I'm putting back on. Might do the retro "SS" but not sure how the white lettering would look? Maybe a flat black "SS"??

Got the vinyl in today for the front and rear facia blackouts. I removed the rear bowtie and have kinda settled on the Sparks SS in black. Hope to get the vinyl installed next week, pics to come.

Looking for feedback on the Hotchkis track pack. I'm considering the full package, front & rear sway bars, lowering springs, sub-frame brace, and strut tower brace. Would like to know how this affected ride, and whether this is good value for the money. I can get the full package for $1350, but I've been saving up for a Procharger so I don't want to spend the money if the return is negligible.
