Difference between Resonated X-Pipe and Resonators

Hello!

I was wondering if there are any differences between having a resonating x-pipe installed and having two sepreate resonators installed. Both are magnaflows..it probably doesn't change anything but thought I'd throw that in there lol. Anyone shed any light? Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly your mechanic recommended two seperate resonators instead of the resonated X correct?

Well, honestly I don't know what the difference would be, or why it would or wouldn't work as well as the X. All I know, is that the resonated X has proven time and time again to help lessen in cabin drone.

What exhaust do you have again? I have a couple oval body magnaflows and the resonated X, and I have nearly zero drone. Only time I've ever heard it enough to bother me at all, was on a hot day on a fairly long cruise at highway speeds...while going up inclines. So yes, I think that is nearly zero drone lol. I have a 25 mile commute to work each day, with some highway and some city, and it has never bothered me during that drive.

Hah yeah that's me. The muffler guy told me that the dual resonators will help with the drone moreso than the resonated X. I'm just curious as to what the two different set ups will result in sound and how each works. The dual resonators did help with the drone...but still have it at 2k rpm. I have the Flowmaster American Thunder. A little too much exhaust boom for my taste although I've grown somewhat accustom to it. I'm thinking of sticking with this for 1/2 -1 year and going big and getting corsa.

I only got alittle more boom when I took out the stock resonators and left in the x pipe, more sensative to gas pedal input then before, but at steady state cruise still very little exhaust sound. Any less and I would be stock!
