Possible to make your own RS tail lights?
Isn't the only different between the RS/non RS tail lights is that the housing is black to give it the tint..?
Would it be possible to take the non-RS tail lights apart and paint the chrome housing black myself? |

Have you done it?
Does the chrome housing just pop out after you take off the lens or what? I'm just worried about what would go into painting those parts.. |

the taillight bezels have 6 or 7 clips. gotta pop off the black housing right above (3 plastic screws hold them in place, then the light housing is held on by 3 bolts ea. pretty easy to take off. just be sure NOT to use a screwdriver to pop off bezels as you scratch the paint and break the plastic tabs. Look into plastidip. its a rubber coating; so if you don't like the black look, you can take it off and they'll look stock again.

I've already painting the chrome bezel black
 I'm talking about painting the chrome housing inside the tail light (behind the red lens). |

Light Smoke Taillight Kit from Headlight Armor is an Option
Our Light Smoke Taillight kit comes pretty close to giving the non Rs the RS look, even in the afternoon sun.

Remove tail lights, cut lenses off, tape off inner lens, paint lip black, reassemble!
