I just received my Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust for the ground effects. I hate the round tips that fit into the square tips on the ground effects. Will it be okay if I cut the tips off or will that burn up the ground effects kit up. I was thinking of ordering SLP square tips and spraying them black. Any thoughts ?

SS--Rider,

If you simply cut the tips off, you’ll likely damage the plastic in the long term from over-exposure to heat. You’d be better off painting the tips flat black to mute them a bit or install some square tips like you mentioned. To make the black stick, you'll have to use a Scotch-Brite pad to lightly scuff the surface before painting them, or else the paint will chip off easily.
