1st ding!! By an officer no less.

So, i work next door to a police fugitive warrant serving outpost and we share a parking lot. I always park last on the row with a ton of extra space on the drivers side.

Today i parked over 2 ft away from the lane line with no car on my drivers side and a trash dumpster 6ft off my passenger side. Around lunchtime I went outside to check on my car as i always do and saw that an officer parked next to me OVER the damn line with a ton of space on his left side.

WHY???? Literally parked so close i would not have even been able to get in the drivers side. So i checked over my car and it was still perfect so i was still irked but nothing wrong. They all leave before i do so i will be able to get in when it's time for me to leave.

So about 2:30pm i go out for a smoke and see the officer had left. I went to look at my car again and then i just lost my mind. Front fender has a ding, 1/4" paint chip gone to the metal and the first "A" in Camaro is knocked loose and leaning downward.

No way you ding a damn door hard enough to almost rip a letter off the car and not know you did it. Every officer in the building knows it's my car and where i work. Couldn't even man up and come tell me??

I went to the desk and the Sgt on duty came out and looked at the car, took my info and says he will find out who did it and Pinellas sheriff dept will be footing the bill for the repairs.

Since it has a ding, chip and the letter looks like fender will be getting a makeover. God this sux. barely a month old. Try to park as far as possible from people and it just never works.

Mostly pissed that the officer would even park so close to me if the knew they would have to get in the passenger side. Really??? With only like 18" to work with? Then can't even have enough sack to come tell me about it.

Ridiculous

I put a ding in someones door last week at Walgreens (not in my camaro) and went inside to find out who the owner was and she was actually the cashier. I paid her $405.00 for the damage after she got the estimate. I could have just left but that is the wrong thing to do and I'd have to live with the guilt. I wouldn't want someone to do that to me so I'm not going to do that to someone else. Well, it looks like that cop is not an honorable person, in fact, I view him the same as I would a thief! He knew he did it. What a hypocrite!!!

Cool a/a report if its not too late

I don't know what your series deductible is but what you have there is an auto accident. Did you know that when that shopping cart comes blowing across the parking lot and dents your car, that is also an auto accident. How do I know? That was one of my first accident reports my first week on the job. And BTW I would never ding a man's pride and joy! The cop must have been a real piece of art work!

I know exactly how you feel. I left half a parking space worth of space on my passenger side and no one could park on my driver's side. Someone grazed my P-side gill I guess as they were pulling out despite having 200% more room than you really ever get.

I hate people so much...

That SUCKS! !!! But I tell ya what- and I mentioned this in someone elses post too with a similar situation - its Florida, ONLY in.Florida! I don't know which it is, whether the vast majority of ppl entering the state are required by law to submit their common sense, or what, but its definitely a Florida thing!

It never fails, no matter how far out in the middle of no where I park, or how much room I leave, the biggest P.O.S. in the lot has to park right on my door, with literally 10-20 spots open at any given time!

Its almost like the bigger the P.O.S. it is, the more its attracted to nicer cars, and the the less respect the owner has for others property! Its an Fn' epidemic!

At least they're footing the bill. Try to see the bright side and let go of the negative. Easier said than done....and I should take my own advice from time to time too.
