Taking longer to deliver than to build?
My 1LT had a pretty quick build time at 3 weeks, but now I'm waiting for it to be delivered. My dealer estimated we'd see it around 2/4, but here it is 2/7 and no delivery date in sight. The car was shipped on 1/25, and still hasn't made it to Minnesota to be picked up by truck to be delivered to the dealership.
Funny, the wait wasn't bothering me while it was in the build cycle, but now that I know that it has been made and is just sitting on a train somewhere between Oshwa and Minneapolis/St. Paul, I'm getting impatient. 12/30/2010 - (1100) Order Placed at Dealership Order passed GM edit tables but dealers has not received allocation to place order 12/30/2010 - (1102) Order Entered via Web 01/05/2011 - (2000) Order Accepted by GM Dealer used allocation to place order into production 01/05/2011 - (2500) Order Preferenced Order pulled to the production system 01/06/2011 - (3000) Order accepted by production control. The 4200 status on the 25th doesn't actually mean it was shipped. It just means it was released to the railway company for shipping. It can sit in a rail car for days or even a week before it actually leaves the plant while waiting on a full train.
It takes 10-14 days at the earliest to go from Oshawa to the last stop and then it will sit for another 3-10 days waiting on a full truck to be shipped to your dealer. Personally I wouldn't expect it till Monday or Tuesday. Though you might get it this Friday if your lucky. Keep an eye on for another 4B00 status. When you get this the car has arrived at the last stop and should be at your dealer in a couple days. |

Got a call from my dealer today, he said that he has an invoice for my car now. Said it usually takes 1 to 3 weeks from receiving the invoice to taking the car home. (!?!) The status history says they should have received the invoice on 1\21\11. All I know is I'm ready NOW! Hang in there buddy. |

This is why I didn't order, I didnt understand why I was paying 27,000 to wait. They arent hand built supercars.
Hopefully you get it soon I know that wait can kill you! |

I placed my order 12/13 and it was built on 1/13 shipped 1/14. Expected delivery of 1/28. Your situation doesn't sound too bad yet comparatively.

Yeah me too! But then again we would have missed all the fun of Area 51. All the daily themes of the day. All the friends.
I would not have traded it for anything..Made it all the sweeter.

That wait is a killer. My baby was built 11/11 and it was delivered to the dealer on 12/1. It will get there.

Patience is a virtue....
BS. It sucks. I ordered mine in late July 09. Got to the dealer in Nov 09. Of course, I was out of town when it came in... Read the manual ahead of time so you can avoid the lame salesman showing you how all of it works. Just get the paperwork out of the way and start the permagrin!
