No future for v6

So the v6 engines in our camaro is really maxed out from the factory and there's really no room to play with. At least thats what the tuners are saying as of right now. So is this really it for us? The intake and exhaust are nice but they are more of a sound modifier if anything. The only option to get some serious play seem to only come from a turbo upgrade but how many of us are really going to dish out some $6000 for that? I just want to know what the future is like for v6'ers.

I beg to differ....it's just not in the same class as the SS's...

It's still mighty fast and just as much fun to drive...

All true, car is well done from the factory. the bolts ons work great and not just for sound, but are bolt ons and can help only so much.If we ever get 3.73 gears, thats about it for now I guess. But with bolt ons and good weather people get mid 13teens and low 5 sec 0-60's.Thats 4th gen v8 territory. Not bad for a v6 and 3800 lbs to drag around!

I dont think there is any V6 owner that bought this car to race it nor to transform it to a V8. Its an awesome car and has awesome power for a V6. the bolt ons give you some extra HP but not rediculous amounts like a turbo, good enough for me to say I have a 312 HP V6.

Yep. Would have bought an ss but I dont race. And my 98 z28 is a 4.5 0-60 car anyway. This engine is something. If you do the power to cubic inch it is more efficient then the ls3, stock for stock or mod for mod.

I believe 4.11 gears are available. If you have an m6 V6 you can use any gear set the V8 has available.

was that V6 on the spray the whole run?

I love the announcer...

OP is correct. If you're looking to tune your car, you can only do so much with the V6. If you're going to drop 6k + install/tune for turbo, it better be because you want to push the V6 to the limits and or have fun with it, otherwise spend that money on upgrading to 1SS.
