Info and thoughts on Hurst shifter, factory and aftermarket

Hey guys,
a few questions. for starters I have a 2010 2SS/RS with a M6
I like the looks of the new factory Hurst shifters the '11's are coming with. Has anyone retrofitted the '11 shifter into their '10? Any one got it for cheaper than the $800 the msrp suggests lol.

Second, Can anyone say how much of a distance in throw there is between the factory Hurst and an aftermarket which I can get much cheaper?
I have shifted the factory one and like its feel. I have not shifted an aftermarket. I have seen video of the shifting and it looks way to short for my taste in driving.
I do know there is a difference between the two, just wondering how much if someone knows

And finally, if you have the Hurst shifter in your '11 what color are the threads for the stitching. I have seen red and white....
Thanks

I am actually only wanting the 20 somthing % reduction. I do not like the 45% throw....
just my preference.
I do like the looks of it, clean and looks like it belongs, but I may still want to put my T handle on it for the old school look.
Just trying to see if I can avoid the 45% reduction and get the factory one thats coming with the new camaros

I tried one out on a showroom car the other day. love the feel
perfect throw lenght.
the white is cool. the red is nice too
grey car so white would go fine
now If I could just find it to order for less than $800

Smile

I've sold a couple of the Hurst boots and I've only seen the stock white stitching and the orange. I'd have to take another look, but that's all I've seen as of late.

my local deal doesent even want to try to find it, and the performance guy I talked with says its $800.......
want the shorter throw, just not the way to short throw of the aftermarket hurst

I have the factory Hurst shift and i like it better than the after market ones, the more factory ones come out, some one will start making a line of shift knobs for them.
